Based in York, I run a private practice working with clients online and from offices in Regus, Clifton Moor. In addition, I lecture in counselling on the BA programme at York St John University. My previous career was as a classical musician, performing and teaching professionally for ten years. Following a decision to work in the helping professions, I gained experience in working on mental health wards, with adults with learning disabilities, and supporting people with physical disabilities. As a result of this experience, I formed a long-time association with the charity Sheffield Young Carers, where I work on their summer residential programmes, supporting young people aged 8-21. I believe that this life experience informs my work as a counsellor, being able to support people going through difficult life transitions, as well as relating to people from a wide range of backgrounds. In addition to my counselling work, I have also led health and wellbeing singing groups for York Learning, St Bede's Pastoral Centre, The Retreat and various care settings.
